State Software Redesign
The SSDT has recently released "Preview Releases" of the USAS and USPS Redesign software. While the software still contains a number of defects and missing features, it has reached a point that direct user feedback is important.
The new interface is substantially different than the current system, referred to as “Classic.” There is clearly a need for some “orientation” for those who wish to begin testing this “preview release.” And while the initial releases of Redesign will be focused on making sure all of the functionality of Classic remains available, the subsequent releases in future years will seek to add functionality that does not exist in Classic – functionality that many districts are currently getting through third party packages.
NEOnet was able to send Lisa Nash to the first training of the redesigned state software on January 28th and 29th. Since her training at SSDT Lisa has held two full-day trainings for other ITC staff to be orientated to the redesign.
If you would like to “test it out,” please contact Lisa at nash[at]neonet[dot]org for orientation.
5 Year Forecast
The optional 5 year forecast reporting period is currently underway, and the manifest has been added to the SIFWorks Data Collector. If your district has made changes to your forecast that you would like to submit, the period will be open from 2/2/2016 – 3/31/2016. If you need assistance, please e-mail the fiscal team at fiscal[at]neonet[dot]org and we will assist you with your submission
W2 & 1099 Submission
All district 2015 W2s and 1099s were successfully generated, and printed. Over the next couple of weeks they will be submitted to the Social Security Administration (SSA) to verify that all social security numbers are valid and accurate. Once that has been completed they will then be submitted for filing to SSA, IRS, RITA and CCA. This year NEOnet prepared 19,666 W2s and 2,492 1099s for consortium members.
