DASL (Student Information) Update
The General Assembly recently passed legislation for two changes that went into effect March 23, 2015.
For traditional public schools only, the 105-Hr withdrawal rule for students who have consecutive unexcused absences that total 105 hours is no longer valid as of March 23rd.
Also passed was modification to the way students in grades 9-12 count for funding. Starting March 23, 2015, full-time equivalency for these students is based on how many graduation units the student is enrolled in for the current school year. A full-time student is a student who has completed, is currently enrolled in, or is scheduled to take at least 5 credit units during the school year.
If this total number of credits for a student is five or more, the student is a full-time student. The district where the student is enrolled will report the student as 100 percent of time. If the student’s total credit enrollment for the year is less than five credits, the percent of time reported for that student will be the total credit enrollment divided by five.
ODE is creating an FAQ document to address specific issues that will be available on a website dedicated to guidance on this change.
EMIS Manual Updates:
ODE recently updated the following sections of the EMIS manual:
Districts and Community Schools are strongly encouraged to utilize Section 2.8 Student Assessment Record and Section 2.15 Student Graduation - Core Summary Record to ensure 14G data is complete during the upcoming reopening of the FY14 Graduate Reporting Period. These two EMIS Manual Sections include reporting instructions associated with some of the Prep for Success data required for the FY14 Report Card, such as: AP, IB, ACT, SAT, Industry Credentials and Dual Enrollment Credit.
Reminder: It is important districts continue to update and submit their data to ODE in a timely manner.
DASL users: as changes are made to staff and course information CLISEMIS/CTREMEMIS (L) needs to be run in update mode so current data is reflected in the transfer and ATTUPDEMIS (S) should be run in update mode prior to every submission so that it contains the most up to date attendance information.

ProgressBook GradeBook Update
Reports Cards for the 2015-2016 School Year:
It is never too early to think about elementary report card revisions for the upcoming school year. Should you anticipate changes to your elementary report cards, you may consider beginning the process now. The NEOnet report card policy is posted on our website www.neonet.org, Services, ProgressBook, ProgressBook documentation, NEOnet Report Card Policy. We can begin working on the new report cards at any time without disturbing what the teachers are currently using. Please share this information with the appropriate people in your district.
Special Services Update
This is a good time to make sure that All ETRs, IEPs, BIPs, SOPs, 504 Plans, Service Plans and Other Tasks that have been finished by your staff, including Progress Reports that have no remaining reporting periods are Completed. This should be done before your personnel leaves for the school year. There is a report in Special Services call Sps Open Task by Owner that will assist with finding these tasks that are open. The IEPs that have been open since the beginning of the school year is good place to start asking the teachers to look at and Complete.
The SPS End of Year Meeting will be Friday, May 8, 2015 at 9:00 AM in Room A. The agenda will cover: End of Year Procedures, Fall Meeting and Training Dates and Survey Results.
