Tyler-Munis Software

October 31st, the OASBO/MCOECN/Tyler partnership announced the 10 pilot schools and their corresponding ITC’s for wave 1 of the Tyler implementation plan.   Implementation of the Tyler Munis Accounting software is scheduled to begin January 1st, 2015.  The districts selected and their associated ITC’s are as follows;


                Athens City - Southeastern Ohio Voluntary Education Cooperative (SEOVEC)

                Austintown Local - Area Cooperative Computerized Educational Service System (ACCESS)

                Beachwood City - Lake Geauga Computer Association (LGCA)

                Georgetown Exempted Village - South Central Ohio Computer Association (SCOCA)

                Lake Local - Stark-Portage Area Computer Consortium (SPARCC)

                Lakewood City - North Coast Council (NCC)

                Lima City - Northwest Ohio Are Computer Services Cooperative (NOACSC)

                Mount Healthy City - Hamilton Clermont Cooperative Association (HCCA)

                Northwestern Local - Miami Valley Educational Computer Association (MVECA)

                Warren County Career Center - Southwest Ohio Computer Association (SWOCA)


As of OASBO’s latest eNews article pertaining to this topic, a final contract had not been established but they hoped to have it worked out very shortly.  Once that contract is finalized these chosen districts will complete their participation agreements.   


Cherwell Helpdesk

NEOnet rolled out a new Cherwell helpdesk starting the week of October 20th.  That week NEOnet staff began using the system with all new end user created tickets.  During the initial transition period, both ticketing systems will be available for use.  As of November 1st all new tickets entered by our customers are now processed through the Cherwell ticketing system.  Access to the old ticket system is still available, but creating a new ticket in the old CA Unicenter system is no longer option.  The new system possesses some impressive new features like opening and responding to tickets via email, as well as a web based portal and mobile application access.  Follow this link for Login and training resources located on the NEOnet website at https://www.neonet.org/content/support.  If you have any questions regarding the helpdesk rollout, please send them via email to helpdesk[at]neonet[dot]org.


One Call Now Notifications

NEOnet is now using One Call Now to send phone text notifications in the event that a service is down for an extended period of time.  While this new communication tool further increases communication with our customers, please note we will continue our current process of emailing the appropriate user distribution groups as well.  If you are interested in receiving the phone text alerts please go to our website at https://neonet.org/content/support and click on ‘Steps to self-subscribe to NEOnet’s One Call Now’.  That document will walk you through the self-subscribe process and let you choose the appropriate ways for NEOnet to contact you in the event of an emergency.  If you have any questions regarding the self-subscribe process with One Call Now, please send them via email to helpdesk[at]neonet[dot]org.


e SERS Upgrade

SERS is in the process of upgrading their online reporting eSERS with new enhancements.   The eSERS upgrade corresponds with general upgrades being made to SERS’ internal and external computer systems.  Because almost all employer interactions with SERS will be performed through this new eSERS portal, SERS will be preparing us for this transition with a periodic publication discussing eSERS’ new features and how to use them.  Training classes will begin in the spring.   A mock-up version of the new eSERS will be available for testing and familiarization shortly thereafter.  In addition to the current eSERS applications, the new eSERS will enable you to:


                Correct Member Enrollment and Contribution Files online in real time

                Look up prior Contribution Files to see exactly what you submitted to SERS

                Complete a Wage Certification

                Submit a Death Notification

                Maintain Contact Information

                Maintain Payroll Schedules

                Access an ERI Cost Calculator

                View current ERI Plans

                View current SCP Payroll Deduction Plans


The new eSERS also will have a Bulletin Board for important communications.  Some of the modifications to eSERS may require technical changes in addition to operational changes at your district, please send SERS Employer Services the contact information for your lead technical staff.  They will add them to their distribution list.  Watch your email for future correspondence regarding the new eSERS upgrade.  In the meantime, if you have questions, email Employer Services at employerservices[at]ohsers[dot]org or call SERS at 877-213-0861.
