Introduction to Block Coding with Sphero

Block coding is a great way to introduce computer coding to kids.  Spheros are ball shaped robots that can be made to do all kinds of fun and interesting things using a block coding interface.  In this hands-on session we'll learn a bit about block coding and then use the block coding to make the Spheros complete the Hole in One challenge.  No previous coding experience is necessary. NEOnet will provide the Spheros for use during the session.

Course will cover free and inexpensive makerspace materials, basic theories of makerspaces, and beginning activities/lesson plans. There will be a hands-on component.

Explore how to use a Silhouette Cameo scrapbook machine to make bulletin boards and room décor, decorate shirts and bags, and much more. Learn the basics of the Silhouette Studio program, where to find free cut files online, and how to use heat press and adhesive vinyl with the machine. Bring a plain shirt/canvas bag and a mug/cup to decorate as you like!
