Student Services Open Labs note:

We know how important and useful the NEOnet Student Services Open Labs are to our users! We miss seeing and helping you all face to face! At this time due to the Governors stay at home order we are not conducting open labs at our NEOnet office. But have no fear, we are still here! Please contact us if you need time with one of our staff to work on projects that you would have done in the open labs. Projects such as scheduling students for next year, end of year procedures, EMIS data collections, etc. If you email studenthelp[at]neonet[dot]org or call us at ext. 601140 we will set up a timeslot to help you get your projects accomplished!
We cannot wait to see you all again!

DASL (Student Information) Update

Your school building DASL Report Cards may look a little different this end of school year! It’s never too early to run sample report cards to make sure you do not need changes or assistance to accommodate this different kind of end of year. Items to think about:

  • Is your Marking Key correct? Did you add marks like P-Pass, I-Incomplete, etc.
  • Are you giving teachers different comment options? Example: Student earned P-Pass for participating in online instruction.
  • Did you eliminate exams? Do not pull Exam from left to right in Reporting Term For Which To Show Marks
  • Are you still calculating a 4th Quarter GPA? Does it calculate correctly?
  • Are you still printing and mailing report cards, or are you posting them to ParentAccess for the first time?

If you run samples now and have questions, please contact studenthelp[at]neonet[dot]org as soon as possible.

EMIS Update:
Data Appeal Windows closing Friday, May 29, 2020

  • FY20 Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) Appeal
  • FY20 Fall 3rd grade ELA & Reading Appeal
  • FY20 Summer & Fall End of Course Assessment (EOC) Appeal
  • FY20 CTE March (D) Follow-up Appeals

Districts will NOT be able to add students to their 2020 March list or update CTE program

If a district has any concerns, they should file an appeal. Performance Measures files will be coming out based on March data. A fair amount of data will be on the CTE report card (which is lagged one year) this year compared to the regular Local Report Card.  Deadline to submit corrected data in EMIS for approved appeals is June 12 at 11:59pm.

Is your district reviewing options for an Online Learning Management System for the upcoming school year?  ProgressBook has an Online Learning Management System built within the GradeBook and its FREE! VirtualClassroom!

Join us on Friday, May 29th at 9:00am or Monday, June 1st at 1:00pm to participate in a Webinar as we explore the advantages of VirtualClassroom.  To sign up for the online webinar go to  and find the WebEx connection information.

VirtualClassroom has many features that are easy to incorporate

  • Teachers may easily and quickly create an online assignment.
    • VirtualClassroom is part of the teacher’s gradebook
    • All the student’s in the teacher’s gradebook are available for VirtualClassroom, no need to ‘sync’ students/assignments
    • Since VC is built on-top of teacher’s gradebook, if groups are created for the class, VC assignments can be designated just for a single class group
    • Teachers have the option to easily align questions to academic standards
    • Choose from multiple question type options
    • Import multimedia (videos, images, animation, audio, url links) into questions or assignments
    • Preview as a Student
    • Ability to view online assignment as student is completing
    • VC online assignments are kept from year to year.
  • Students complete the online assignment with their ProgressBook account (Student/ParentAccess account).
  • Assignments are auto-graded and automatically updated in the teacher’s gradebook as each student completes the assignment.
  • Teacher easily view each student’s completed assignment or the entire class.
