DASL (Student Information) Update
We have been receiving questions about Middle School students and College Credit Plus. There are two different options to record those 7th and 8th graders that are participating in DASL.

Option 1:

Add the CCP course and course section to the Middle School’s Master Schedule. Enroll the middle school student (s) into that course section. Enter the student (s) dual credit on the College Credit Management screen at the Middle School level.

Option 2:

Enroll the Middle School student(s) into the high school with an active status and on a non-attending calendar. Enroll the student(s) into the course section already on the high school master schedule. Dual credit can be entered from High School College Credit Management screen.

For more information on how to create a CCP course in DASL and general CCP tips please reference the CCP handouts on our website. You can find this documentation under Services>EMIS Documentation>FY 16.

If you have any questions please email studenthelp[at]neonet[dot]org

EMIS Update:

Appeals for Report Card related items:

Assessments - Districts may want to process a new collection which will now populate a Missing Report in the Preview.  Collections can no longer be submitted, but you can use this report to identify any students that may need to be included in the appeal process.  Missing reports may still include students that ODE said to ignore.

Some examples:

  • Summer/Fall 10th graders who took OGT 3/2015, did not pass and took summer test-ignore
  • Spring 3-8 missing test but did take EOC test.  They would be included with the EOC State Assessment collection.
  • ALT students included in missing.  Please verify that they were included with the Alternate Assessment collection that closed January 8th.

In cases where districts know there are additional corrections that need to be made to the data reported in the collections noted above, superintendents may alert the department to the reporting concern and request an opportunity to make corrections through the department’s formal data appeals process.   Examples of data covered by this final 2015 Report Card appeals window include 2015 Diagnostic Results, 2015 Assessment data, 2015 Majority of Attendance data and 2015 Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plan data.  Please note: the data addressed in prior appeals windows held this fall, including 2014 Diagnostic data, 2014 Graduation and Prepared for Success data, and 2016 Retention data are no longer subject to appeals.

Deadline to file appeals is January 29, 2016 and the instructions can be found at:

http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Data/EMIS/Reporting-Responsibilities/Data-Appeals

Additional collection requests yet to open:

  • OTELLA
  • AP/IB/SAT/ACT
  • Also starting soon – graduate reporting for last year

ODE will begin to populate data for FY16 reports

  1. Expect FY16 reports to be turned on in about a week (plus or minus).
  2. Those reports will match what was done for FY15 – FTE for each enrollment for a student and also the adjustment reports. ODE will be turning their focus towards FY16 work very quickly. Expect more tools in the next week or two, and anticipate opening the staff collection request in next week to 10 days.  Will focus on FY16 staff and 16 courses very shortly, but hold off on other components until FY15 is done.

ProgressBook GradeBook Update

Student Search

Did you know there is a quick way to find out about any student in any of your classes?  This is available in the Student Search box which is located on both the Teacher Home Page and the Class Dashboard.

After Entering the student’s name and clicking search you are able to click on the student which takes you to the student profile tab avoiding time searching through classes for a particular student.
