End of Year meetings note:

The student services team has several end of year Roundtables, Meetings and Review Sessions scheduled for the months of April/May. Due to the Governors stay at home orders all sessions will be conducted via WebEx. Although we have produced sessions via WebEx before, we ask that you still be patient with us. We anticipate sound quality difficulties, especially if there is large volume of participants on.

In addition, we may not have a traditional agenda nor all the answers you are looking for at this time. Like most of the state, we are waiting on directives and what is to come! However, we have some great tips to share that your district may not have thought about yet during these unprecedented times.

Please review the sign up links below. They will be updated frequently with connection details and any handouts we are using during the sessions.

Student Services Open Labs note:

We know how important and useful the NEOnet Student Services Open Labs are to our users! We miss seeing and helping you all face to face! At this time due to the Governors stay at home order we are not conducting open labs at our NEOnet office. But have no fear, we are still here! Please contact us if you need time with one of our staff to work on projects that you would have done in the open labs. Projects such as scheduling students for next year, end of year procedures, EMIS data collections, etc. If you email studenthelp[at]neonet[dot]org or call us at ext. 601140 we will set up a timeslot to help you get your projects accomplished!
We cannot wait to see you all again!

ODE has been posting FAQ's dealing with a variety of important subjects.  Make sure you are looking at those as they do impact EMIS reporting.

A FAQ is underway for Instructional Hours and Calendars, probably the most important one for EMIS coordinators to look at.  Plans are to include instructions for entering EMIS Exceptions for Blizzard Bags and Calamity Days. There are still a few policy details to wrap up before instructions are released. Information will be sent as soon as it is available.

School Closure Surveys

ODE is currently working on a 7-9 question survey to ask about how districts are putting educational options in place, i.e., when they started, what types of options they provide, if they have online/internet access for kids or not, what did schools do to make it happen, etc. Hopefully, ODE can accurately track responses and get 100% participation through EMIS reporting.  Assuming the plan comes to be, the survey will come out in the Data Collector as an Excel file in Reports > Received Files.  . A communication will go out once the survey happens.
