DASL (Student Information) Update

With the 2017-2018 school year coming to a close we wanted to remind districts of a few things. First, don’t forget to keep running promotion and bulk enrollment to ensure that you got any last minute students that enrolled late in the school year. To promote students make sure you are in the 17/18 school year. To bulk enroll make sure you are in the 18/19 school year.

Secondly, please remember the withdrawal scenarios for students that withdraw over the summer.

Scenario 1: A student finishes out the 17/18 school year and lets the district know by June 30 that they won’t be back for 18/19. You will withdraw the student in 17/18 and WHACK out of 18/19.

Scenario 2: Previously Attending Student Summer Withdrawal-A student finished out the 17/18 school year and was promoted to 18/19. The student will not be returning to the district in 18/19. Perform a summer withdrawal in the 18/19 school year with a date of 7/1/18 thru the day before school.

For more End of the Year reminders please reference the End of Year checklist on our website in the April Roundtable folder.

DataMap:
The 17/18 OELPA data file became available on Monday, May 14th to download and load into StudentInformation/DASL.  Once the file is loaded in StudentInformation/DASL, remember to also load the 17/18 OELPA file into DataMap.  It is a quick, easy, once click import into DataMap.  Please keep in mind OCBA (Ohio State Test) results will be available to download on June 4th, again once the results are loaded into StudentInformation/DASL you will need to also load into DataMap.  And you may also want to reload your ACT and SAT scores for 17/18 since students may take these exams several times during the school year to ensure all test results are available in DataMap.

Please remember closing Student Interventions at the end of the school year can easily be done from the Intervention Search on the home page of DataMap.

  1. Select the filter criteria to create the list of Student Interventions from the Intervention Search section.

    1. Click Find

  2. Click the Checkbox in-front of the student(s) name, of those you wish to close the Intervention

  3. Click the Exit Intervention button in the middle of the page

  1. Select the Exit Date and Exit Reason

    1. Optional: Enter Exit Summary information if the information is the same for every student selected

    2. Note:  If one or more of the Student Interventions selected has information previously entered in the Exit Summary section such as signature lines, a warning message will display.  If you choose to continue and click Save, DataMap will over-ride the previous information entered on the Exit Summary with a blank if no information has been entered on the Exit Summary or with the information entered which will appear on each of the students interventions that has been selected.

  2. Click Save
