DASL (Student Information) Update
With the 2016-2017 school year coming to a close we wanted to remind districts of a few things. First, don’t forget to keep running promotion and bulk enrollment to ensure that you got any last minute students that enrolled late in the school year.

Secondly, please remember the withdrawal scenarios for students that withdraw over the summer.

Scenario 1: A student finishes out the 16/17 school year and lets the district know by June 30 that they won’t be back for 17/18. You will withdraw the student in 16/17 and WHACK out of 17/18.

Scenario 2: Previously Attending Student Summer Withdrawal-A student finished out the 16/17 school year and was promoted to 17/18. The student will not be returning to the district in 17/18. Perform a summer withdrawal in the 17/18 school year with a date of 7/1/17 thru the day before school.

For more Student Information End of the Year reminders please reference the End of Year checklist on our website.

EMIS Update:
Updates with the latest DASL release, May 15th, include MAJOREMIS –Majority of Attendance program.  District may want to rerun the “9th on or after FY15” tab to make sure withdrawn students are properly updated.  When running the update to this tab you will want to pull over courses to select students that should be included for this tab. District may also want to rerun the “9TH Prior to FY15” tab to make sure all EMIS subject codes are included. Additional EMIS Subject codes were added with the release.  150300-Government, 150308 Government/Economics, 159950-Government/Politics, 15080 History (American), 152300-History (Integrated).  Reminder: if manual updates have been made to the MOA, running the MAJOREMIS update again will override the manual updates.

The FC Student Withdrawal Record is being updated to “Student Withdrawal Override”.  The withdrawal date being incorrectly reported is the number one thing causing appeals or supplemental grad situations. Districts will start using the FC record with the Graduation Process – Period FY17G. See EMIS manual chapter 2.17 for updated information

ACT/SAT – Test results for state mandated assessments have a different file format that includes month, day and year.  The current results files received do not contain the actual ‘day’ date the state mandated assessments were taken but will default to include the first day of the month. FA transfer for SAT, ACT and CTE Industry Credentials (GW) now includes the full month, day and year of assessment.

ODE is planning on opening the SDC – Secure Data Center soon which will include report card information.  It is important districts continue submitting data for the FY17L Final Staff/Course Collection, Student FY17S collections- Student Cross Reference, FY17S-End of Year, along with all manifest that are currently available in the Data Collector.

ProgressBook GradeBook Update
