EMIS Supplementary Grad Rate Form -Opportunity for districts to request a graduation cohort adjustment

EMIS Supplementary Graduation Rate Data applications now can be submitted through the new FORMS application within the SAFE account system. This waiver can be submitted for situations in which the student (or parents) reported doing one thing and then actually ended up doing something else (ex. parents initially reporting they would transfer their child to another Ohio public school, but actually transferred the child to an out-of-state school) and because of the withdrawal code, the student is counting as a non-graduate for either the Class of 2014 (5-year rate) or Class of 2015 (4-year rate). As part of the new waiver form, administrators will answer questions about the original withdrawal reason and provide the correct code that should have been reported. When accessing the application follow the prompts under the Report Card waiver heading. Applications for the 2016 waiver are due June 10. Please note, adjustments for coding errors and other record keeping mistakes cannot be corrected using this form. A separate EMIS data appeals process exists to correct EMIS reporting errors. Please contact the EMIS team at NEOnet if assistance is needed to access this application.

SSID Deactivation – when two unique SSID’s exist for a student.

This process is used when a district’s Longitudinal Grad Rate Report includes the SSID for a student who did not graduate from that district

  • Confirm with the Withdrawn To district that student enrolled and was assigned a new SSID, which was reported to EMIS

  • Deactivate old SSID and associate it with the new SSID

Deactivation Process occurs at the IBM website. Cohort reassignment occurs at ODE based on IBM file of deactivated SSID’s

NEOnet will be offering EXCEL training June 21st and June 22nd.  The topics included:
Troubleshooting SIS Data using Excel (prior to the data Collector)
Where Kids Count (WKC) Report Leveraging Excel
FTE Report Leveraging Excel
CTE Report Leveraging Excel

More information will be sent out to districts in the near future.

ProgressBook GradeBook Update
In DASL, there is now the ability to “View Latest Report Card” in the I Want To: menu for a student.  This will show the latest report card ONLY if the grade is sent to DASL from Gradebook.  This would also allow the ability to run permanent record labels in DASL.  Should you wish your elementary report cards to be available under View Latest Report Card in DASL, please notify me for further discussion on the possibility for your district.
