DASL (Student Information) Update
With the 2019/2020 school year in coming up in full force we wanted to remind schools of few items to think about the approaching year.

SYI and Calendar

  • In order to begin working in the 19/20 school year SYI must be completed and students promoted.

  • Once SYI is completed for 19/20 remember you still have to enter your EMIS Calendar Exceptions to report your 19/20 calendar to ODE

  • Even if you have already completed SYI and promotion, remember to continue to repeat the process to ensure newly enrolled students move up to 19/20. In addition, students who have withdrawn from 18/19 need to be removed from 19/20.

Scheduling:

DataMap:
Did you know, Principals and Administrative staff with the role of DataMap Teacher Admin have the ability to view a teacher’s state assessment trends with their classes? In DataMap, select:  Menu icon  > Analysis > Assessment Comparison

  • Assessment = OST (or AASCD, Alternate Assessment)

  • Search Type = Teacher

  • < > = Select a teacher

    Note:  Classroom teachers only have the option to select themselves.

  • Testing period = Select ALL

  • < > = Select the subject you wish for view for the selected teacher depending on the subjects assessed

    < > = Select the test that would be given for the teacher

    Example, if the teacher is a 7th grade teacher and the subject selected is English, select Grade 7 English Language Arts

  • Click Find

This will display the results by the scaled score as to:

  • How the teacher’s class for each year the students have been administered the Ohio State Test (EOC or Next Gen) have performed

    • In comparison to the students that took the same test in the building

      • Along with all the students in the district that took the same assessment performed 

The option is also available to select to view the results by the Standards that were assessed on the Ohio State Test to view the results by Class in comparison to Building, in comparison to the students in the District.

Districts view this as an electronic student accum folders which is easily accessible at the click of a button.  DataMap also has a new RIMP process introduced this school year which allows the RIMP Program Memberships and Not On Track status to update directly to StudentInformation/DASL!  Many districts have taking advantage of the Free 60 Day Trial which included setup and training!

Excel Tip:

If you need to share a workbook with one or more co-workers in order to collect com­ments, updates, changes, and suggestions, you’ll probably need to use more than just the obvious feature: change tracking. You should consider what is or isn’t discoverable in a document’s properties (metadata). You might consider using protection features in Excel to restrict editing to specific cells. ProgressBook GradeBook Update 
New Report Cards and Report Card Revisions for the 2019-20 School Year:

It is never too early to think about elementary report card revisions for the upcoming school year.  Changes including Attendance Hours and other changes to your elementary report cards, you may consider beginning the process now.  The NEOnet report card policy is posted on our website www.neonet.org, Services, ProgressBook, ProgressBook documentation, NEOnet Report Card Policy. 

Please share this information with the appropriate people in your district.

 

Special Services Update

The updated redesigned Progress Report was installed in Special Services with the 18.8 software release.  We have removed the older version of OP-6A and combo to streamline the process.  The updated task template is called Progress Report – Goals/Obj by date.  The updated Progress Report is also included in the combo task Progress Report – Transition & Goals/Obj by Date.

               

The changes on the report include a reporting date field for the following textboxes:

  • Comment on progress toward goal

  • Quantitative data used to demonstrate progress
