DASL (Student Information) Update
In the recent 15.3 release a defect was fixed so that all report cards that have been sent to the vault will now appear under the I want to….View Latest Report Card. There was an issue where some Standards-Based report cards sent to the vault via the ProgressBook Gradebook side, would not appear on the DASL- View Latest Report Card screen. That issue is now resolved. Please note if your building does not participate in sending report cards to the vault for parents to view on ParentAccess you will continue to receive a message stating ‘No report cards available for this student’ when attempting to click on the I want to….View Latest Report Card screen.

Reminders: *Districts should continue to run Promotion & Enrollment to get new students enrolled in 15/16 up to the 16/17 school year. For complete steps please view steps #5 and #6 in the Promotion & Enrollment Checklist.
*The calendar wizard part of School Year Initialization did not create the school buildings Calendar EMIS Exceptions required correctly report your 16/17 calendar to EMIS. Please review the available training list to attend a Calendar EMIS Exception training or sign up for an open lab to complete this process.

EMIS Update:

The First Staff and Course Collection FY16 is scheduled to close April 1, 2016.  Districts will want to ensure that issues on the Invalid Certification and HQT – Highly Qualified (Level 2) reports have been corrected before this window closes.

The Graduate Reporting Period FY15G is scheduled to open soon. This Collection includes Assessment, Graduate Core Summary, Graduate/Demographic/Attributes, Special Ed. Grad Requirements and Student Graduation-Only Test Record.

DASL Release 15.3 includes a ‘Graduation Only Test Screen”.  EMIS > Maintenance > Graduate Only Test Record . In the past this data was loaded to the Flat File Editor to create a separate FFE file to load to the Data Collector.   You now have the capability to enter the data into DASL and transfer with Report Period ‘G’, Graduation Transfer. See EMIS manual 2.16 for Graduate only Test guidelines.

CCP application within ODDEX to be added in the near future.  This application will display both Higher Ed and LEA data related to CCP. There will be an additional CCP role for ODDEX.

A new Data Collector in in the process of being released. This will include additional options with the Data Collections.

The March/April ODE ITC EMIS Training for district and ITC EMIS staff, covers changes to the updated Data Collector.  To register you must have a SAFE account. If you have not registered, there are still dates available. . See March 15th Newsflash.

ProgressBook GradeBook Update
New Report Cards and Report Card Revisions for the 2016-2017 School Year:

It is never too early to think about elementary report card revisions for the upcoming school year.  Should you anticipate changes to your elementary report cards, you may consider beginning the process now.  The NEOnet report card policy is posted on our website, Services, ProgressBook, ProgressBook documentation, NEOnet Report Card Policy.  We can begin working on the new report cards at any time without disturbing what the teachers are currently using.  Please share this information with the appropriate people in your district.

Special Services Update

The Special Services 15.3.0 Release resolved the following issues:

  1. District Banks Access – Some users were not able to access the districts banks from the forms.  This issue has now been resolved.

  2. Student Properties – If a student does not have any contacts is listed in a message will state in the dropdown box – “No Contacts Available”

  3. EMIS Review Report -  For many districts this report  was timing out due to a large amount of data.  The default timeout has been increased from 110 seconds to 600 seconds

  4. Include EMIS Checkbox – Checking or Unchecking a Completed Task was extremely slow.  This process has now been improved.

  5. Oops Error – Some users were experiencing oops errors when navigating between Completed Tasks to Open Tasks.  Users with multiple district access were experiencing oops errors when switching between building/district.  This is no longer an issue.

  6. Parent and General Invitation – the Import Contact icon has now been moved from the top of the screen directly onto the form next to the text field as shown below.
