DASL (Student Information) Update

Forgotten Feature-Letter Templates!

Forty percent (40%) of NEOnet districts are not utilizing absence intervention letter templates in DASL! Eighty percent (80%) are not using discipline letter templates! Districts that are using this feature are reading the above statements and saying; "How can that be? Templates saves so much time!"

Letter templates can be uploaded for your district or for each building and for a variety of reasons. For student attendance, districts have used this feature for absence warning letters for students approaching House Bill 410 thresholds, excessive absence hour’s letters, attendance truancy letters, and more. For student discipline, districts have used this feature for referral forms, suspension letters, expulsion letters, and more! All of which will pre-populate student data for you and saving a ton of time!

DataMap:

Now is a great time to ensure all of your Winter Test Assessment Data is up-to-date in DataMap.  Many test assessment files have become available in the past month or will become available soon.  To import your test data go to Admin > Import Assessment Scores:

  • State- OST:

  • 18/19 Fall 3rd Grade ELA Assessment

    • Available as of Monday, December 10th

  • High School EOC results will be released:

    • Tuesday, February 19th

    • Assessment data must be imported in StudentInformation/DASL first, then load in DataMap from StudentInformation as:

      • OST > 2018-2019 > Fall testing period

  • TerraNova

    • The ability to pull the TerraNova Online using Provider Website was corrected last school year

    • Previously TerraNova Online imported both TerraNova 3 with InView-Complete Battery and the TerraNova 3-Complete Battery. 

      • Now the TerraNova Online only imports the TerraNova 3 – Complete Battery

    • Also, TerraNova NRT assessment data import requires standard TerraNova NRT scores, DataMap does not have the functionality to import a file with InView only scores.  If your district has InView scores, please contact NEOnet so we may review the possibility to create a District Assessment file to store your InView scores.

  • District Assessments

    • I have had many district request an Ad Hoc report to pull Marking Period and/or Final Marks out of StudentInformation/DASL to be able to load in DataMap.  What a great idea!  I was able to create the reports and it is so simple to run the report, export the file and load in DataMap!!  So much easier than using the data from the Multiple Measures page.  Thank you for the great idea!!

    • Districts that are interested, this will give you the ability to keep all the data for a student in one-place.  In DataMap on the Student Roadmap!

      • Example of just keeping Final Scores

      • Example of storing marks for each Marking Period

EMIS Update:

Data Collections:

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (FY19) – Closes Friday, February 1, 2019 District need to verify data has been submitted.

Initial Staff/Course (FY19) – Closes Thurs, Jan. 31, 2019 - Districts can submit up until 11:59PM.
Teacher Licensure Course Reports (TLC) need to be reconciled prior to the Initial Staff/Course closing in order to be included with the Local Report Card. Districts will still be able to update CTE Error report issues with the Final Staff Collection, except invalid certification. 

Final Staff/Course (FY19) Scheduled to open Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019.
 

Midyear Student Collection (FY19)- Opened January 3rd.  Districts should reference the FY19S checklist for additional reporting elements.
 

March Follow-up Collection (FY19)Feb. 01 – April 12.

CTE March Follow-up Files have been loaded to the data collectors. CTFL-001 and CTFL002.

FY19 CTE March Concentrators Appeals  01/22/2019 – 02/22/2019 - Opportunity to identify 'CTE Program of Concentration' data reporting errors in the past that are causing a student to be excluded from the 2019 March list. Errors could include: not reporting any concentrator data OR reporting concentrator data that does not align to the student's courses

ProgressBook GradeBook Update 
Preferred Name

On the Students Profile, Personal tab, you can now view the students Preferred Name.

This information is from SIS > Student > Edit Profile > Called Name.

 

The student Profile displays personal information; primary contact information; addresses; parent and student email addresses (if available); navigation links to ParentAccess and the DataMap Student Roadmap; and ParentAccess usage information. Additionally, if SIS Alerts are enabled in StudentInformation, Student Notes from SIS displays information about medical concerns, custody notices, disability notes, and/or miscellaneous notes, if this information is entered in StudentInformation.

 

Special Services Update
View Completed IEPs

Regular Education Teachers who have students on and IEP, ETR, WEP, Behavior Intervention Plan, or 504 Plan with Special Services Security Level 100 can view all Task forms online by clicking on the paper with eyeglasses link  next to the student name in their Gradebook.  A new screen will pop up for Special Education.

 

Clicking on the paper with eyeglasses link will popup a screen with access to Completed Tasks.  You will need to maximize the screen.

A list of the student’s Completed Task will display.  To view a PDF that includes all pages of the Completed Task, click on the name of the task.  *Please note you may need to disable any popups.
