DASL (Student Information) Update
This month we wanted to clear up questions you may have with the User-Added Events tab located at SIS > Student > Attendance > Student Absence Intervention. We have received several tickets where EMIS Coordinators are getting errors with their Truancy (aka HB410) reporting due to reporting duplicate records being reported for student truancy. Typically the error results back to user’s adding manual events that are exactly the same as the system generated events.

The User-added Events tab should only be used when a student needs a manually added HB410 reporting events. This would be for students who attend multiple districts, or students who bring absence hours with them from a previous school district in the same school year. If you have a student that applies to the two scenarios above then users can:

1. Click HB410 Manual Event to add a new reporting event.
2. Select the event type and date, then enter any applicable comments.
3. Click to delete a user-added event.
4. Click Update Intervention to save any new or edited reporting events

DataMap Update
If you district has implemented the new RIMP process, your EMIS Coordinator will be able to pull the Program codes and Not on Track Status from DataMap to StudentInformation for EMIS reporting, saving a lot of time for the teachers and EMIS Coordinator!

The steps are very simple.

  1. Ensure all your students on a RIMP have Program Codes in DataMap
    1. Menu > Interventions > RIMPs
      1. Click the Heading Program Code to sort the column
      2. If the Program Code is missing, contact the teacher(s) to request them to update
      3. To update the student’s RIMP
        1. Hover over the row
        2. Click the Paper/Pencil icon to open the RIMP
        3. Once the RIMP is open

Click Reading Component tab to select the Program Code(s)

Update Program Codes and Not on Track status in StudentInformation/DASL

  2. EMIS > DataMap EMIS Import

  3. Select the Import Type of “Program codes to update RIMP Program Codes from DataMap

  4. Click Preview Import

    1. Select the students you wish to import the Program Codes

    2. You may select all the students or just a few

  5. Click Import Selected

    1. This may be run as often as you wish

  6. Repeat Steps 3 – 6 to update ‘Not on Track Statuses’ from DataMap.

    1. Select ‘On Track Statuses

    2. Only students that have not had their Program Codes and  ‘On Track/Not on Track’ status updated in StudentInformation/DASL will list, whether updated by the DataMap EMIS Import or if the student was updated individually.

  7. Complete instructions with screen shots may be found on the NEOnet website > Services > DataMap > Documentation > RIMPS

The end of the second marking period occurred last month.  If your district is pulling Reading Levels/F&P/DRA Levels from GradeBook to DataMap either from an Assignment or from the Report Card, please contact Janet Hayes at hayes[at]neonet[dot]org or 601112 if you need any assistance.

ProgressBook ParentAccess Update
A tip for parents!

In ParentAccess, on the Grades tab, turning the triangle reveals the number of days remaining in a reporting period.  Clicking on the other reporting periods on the right will reveal how may days since the prior reporting period ended and how many days until the reporting period starts.

This may be a great announcement to put on the ParentAccess log in page!
