DASL (Student Information) Update
The upcoming 15.1 DASL release will include some much anticipated bug fixes, including fee reporting and the Admitted From IRN on student registration wizard.

Fee Reports:

Previously, when students had contacts marked as Copied on Correspondence, duplicate copies of the Student Fee Invoice (R108-C) and Student Fee Collection List Detail (R108-A) reports did not print. In this release, one copy of the reports correctly prints for each contact marked Copied on Correspondence. In addition, if a student has contacts marked as Copied on Correspondence, the Total Owed no longer displays in the footer of the reports.

Also on the r108-C, the filters that are selected on the “Selection Criteria” will now filter correctly.

Student Registration Wizard:

When you registered a student, the Admitted From IRN field on the Complete Registration tab of the Student Registration Wizard was incorrectly disabled and set to ****** if you selected an Admission Reason of 3 - Student transferred from nonpublic school in Ohio or 6 - Transferred from other Ohio public district/community school. In this release, when you select one of these Admission Reason values, the Admitted From IRN field is blank and enabled.

EMIS Update:

September ODE EMIS Training -

The schedule for ODE EMIS Training visits for the month of September have been published to ODE’s website.  To access the schedule.

Districts are encouraged to attend the ODE sponsored trainings and update events either onsite here at NEOnet or via our online webinar. Our next session is September 10, 2015 from 9:00-12:00 p.m.
Brenda Hartley, from ODE, will be sharing detailed information about upcoming data collections and updates to FY15 and FY16 until 11:30 a.m. Please plan on remaining for an extra 30 minutes while the NEOnet EMIS team updates you on a few DASL EMIS items.

KRA Pre-Identification Process:

There are changes to the Enrollment file for the KRA Pre-Id’s this school year.  If a district wishes to submit a file now before the DASL layout is updated, they can use the existing enrollment export file and add a column called data_collection_token.  Then on each line in the file, add the token value of kra2015 for every student.  Districts will then be able to successfully upload their file with this addition.  The file also must contain leading zeroes in the IRN files so opening it in excel may strip those values off.  They would just need to reformat the column making sure leading zeroes will be included.  DASL State Support is trying to get the changes to the Pre-ID released ASAP.

ProgressBook GradeBook Update 

In the upcoming 15.1 Release of GradeBook, there is a change to the class dashboard.  There is now a Quick View icon (arrow) that displays next to the student’s name.  This will show the student picture (if enabled) and a link to the Student Profile and DataMap.  If DataMap is not available for the district, they will be directed to Software Answers public website.  Student pictures can be enabled under School Features on the Admin home page.

Special Services Update

The upcoming 15.1.0 Special Services Release includes the redesign of the District Banks, Live Student Addresses from DASL and changes to the School Year Default Dates.

New District Banks
These Banks are found on the Special Services Admin Homepage under Setup District Banks.  The redesign of the Setup District bank screen lets the district create bank items based on a specific task/form combination and make them available to all users in the district or only those in specific buildings.  This functionality is currently available for the following forms:

  • IEP 1 Future Planning, 2 Special Factors, 3 Profile
  • IEP 4 PostSecondary Transition
  • IEP 5 PostSecondary Transition Services
  • IEP 6 Measurable Annual Goals

Student Contacts
On the Student Properties window, in addition to the contacts the student address field now displays live data from StudentInformation.  This live address information also flows to multiple forms, including forms on Open Task.

Default Dates

  • On the Start a New Task window, the default School Year has been changed to 2015-2016

On the EMIS Review Report and Build EMIS Extract screens the Start Date and End Date values have been changed to 07/01/2015 and 06/30/2016.
