DASL (Student Information) Update
In a recent release, a new feature was added allowing the import of transportation information into DASL.  The Transportation Import uses an Excel Spreadsheet Template to import Transportation data into the Transportation tab of the Student Profile Page. The Import may be used to add transportation records or update existing records. You can find the excel template under the help documentation>Procedural and Step by Step Checklist>Student>Transportation Import Template.

When completing the spreadsheet please keep the following rules in mind:

  1. The Excel spreadsheet file needs to be saved in the .xlsx format.

  2. The Transportation is only available at the building level. When completing your spreadsheet, it needs to be specific to the building you’re working in.

  3. When updating, if a column in the spreadsheet is empty, that field on the transportation record will not be updated. This way, you can update only those fields you wish to update such as bus numbers without effecting the rest of the fields on the record.

  4. When inserting records, if a field is left blank on the spreadsheet, the field will either be left blank on the record or defaulted to the standard default value for the field.

  5. Student number is required for each row on the spreadsheet. The school and school year will be determined from the building in context. Records are imported at the building level.

For more documentation please visit the help documentation under Procedural and Step by Step Checklist>Student>Transportation Import Template Guide.

If you have any questions please email studenthelp[at]neonet[dot]org.

ProgressBook GradeBook Update
The end of the year is just around the corner.  Should you have final marks on your report card,  you may want to verify the final marks are saving to DASL.  Should the mark disappear and not save on the report card entry screen, please go to DASL, Marking patterns, edit (pencil) the marking pattern rule for Final and Save.  Go then to GradeBook, Tools, Import marking patterns. If this does not resolve the problem, please contact studenthelp[at]neonet[dot]org.

The GradeBook End of Year Meeting is scheduled for May 19th. This meeting is for users with the role of School Administrators and Masters. It includes a review of what rolls over from year to year, what doesn’t roll over and should be documented, what is coming in GradeBook and the Beginning of the Year Setup Meetings.

Special Services Update
Completing Tasks:
This is a good time to make sure that All ETRs, IEPs, BIPs, SOPs, 504 Plans, Service Plans and Other Tasks that have been finished by your staff, including Progress Reports that have no remaining reporting periods are Completed.  This should be done before your personnel leaves for the school year.  There is a report in Special Services call Sps Open Task by Owner that will assist with finding these tasks that are open.  The IEPs, ETRs, etc. that have been open since the beginning of the school year is good place to start asking the teachers to look at and Complete.

The SPS End of Year Meeting will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 9:00 AM in Room  A. The agenda will cover: End of Year Procedures, Fall Meetings, Training Dates, Survey Results and future release 16.0.0
